Patients' Rights

  1. The patient has the right to receive impartial care and respect for their personal values and beliefs from all staff members in accordance with Kuwait laws and regulations.
  2. The patient has the right to know the identity of the physician and the staff members who are responsible for their care.
  3. The patient has the right to participate in the decision-making process about planning and implementing the treatments with the nurses and physicians.
  4. The patient has the right to privacy and confidentiality during the performance of all examinations, procedures and treatments.
  5. The patient has the right to choose the treating doctor.
  6. The patient will, at all times, be protected during treatment from any physical, verbal or psychological assault.
  7. The patient has the right to be disclosed of the treatment’s details and the relevant cost.
  8. The patient, upon request, has the right to receive an itemized bill with explanations of charges acquired regardless of having the bill paid by the patient or from other sources.
  9. The patient must be provided with comprehensive medical care which aims at reaching a proper diagnosis and/or treatment.
  10. The patient has the right to receive immediate care in emergency/urgent cases.
  11. The patient has the right to receive detailed and comprehensive information regarding the diagnosis, proposed treatment, alternative treatments, probability of the treatment’s success or failure, expected results, and possible issues related to the treatment’s process. The patient also has the right to be informed of the consequences that may arise should the treatment be withdrawn or refused.
  12. The patient has the right to sign an informed written consent before the commencement of any interventional procedure.
  13. The patient has the right to refuse the examination and/or the follow-up of treatment details by any persons not directly responsible for his\her care. People who are not directly involved in the patient’s treatments are required to have the patient’s consent before attending the case discussion, examination, and/or treatment.

  14. The patient has the right to ask their physician to provide them with information on patient advocacy and support services available in Kuwait.
  15. The patient has the right to view their medical records under the supervision of the medical team as well as request a copy of their records.
  16. If the patient has been requested to participate in medical research, the patient has the right to written consent to participate or refuse participation. The patient also has the right to end their participation at any given time for any given reason. Refusal and end of participation will not compromise the quality of the services provided to the patient.
  17. The patient has the right to have the attendance of a family member, legal guardian, and/or friend as moral support.
  18. The patient has the right to submit complaints and suggestions about our services through several means: (1) direct communication with the General Manager at  (2) filling out the complaints/suggestions form and placing it in the assigned boxes \ (3) or by sending an email to complaints@inaya.com.kw that can directly reach the general manager. 

Patients' Responsibilities

  1. Respect the Center’s rules and regulations.
  2. Show consideration for others and deal with other patients and staff with respect.
  3. Respect the privacy and comfort of other patients.
  4. Provide complete and accurate information regarding previous illnesses, treatments, medications used and allergies.
  5. The patient shall make it known whether he or she clearly understands the course of treatment and what is expected of him/her.
  6. Follow the treating physician’s instructions.
  7. Hold the responsibility for refusing or not following treatment plans, after being informed of the consequences.
  8. Avoid delays in making appointments, rather follow the request of the treating physician.
  9. Attend appointments on time. If you wish to cancel a confirmed appointment, please inform the center of the cancellation 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  10. Respect priority is given to urgent cases.
  11. Comply with the center’s safety regulations as well as the no smoking policy.
  12. Ensure any financial obligations are fulfilled promptly (if any)
  13. Attend the assigned follow-ups as requested by the physician.
  14. Avoid bringing valuable personal belongings to the center. The center will not be held responsible for any losses/damage that may occur to such belongings.
  15. Periodically, Inaya Medical Center will conduct patient surveys as part of our continuous improvement initiatives. By completing these surveys, you are part of the solution.
